KENT CHAN (b. 1984, Singapore) is an artist, curator and filmmaker based in Netherlands and Singapore.
The artist's practice revolves around our encounters with art, fiction and cinema that form a triumvirate of practices porous in form, content and context. He holds particular interest in tropical imagery, the past and the future relationships between heat and art, and contestations to the legacy of modernity as the epistemology par excellence. His works have taken the form of moving-image, text, performances, and exhibitions.
He is currently artist-in-residence at Art Explora, Paris in France until December 2024. His works are in both private and public collections including Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig, Germany; Kadist Foundation, USA; Rijkscollectie, The Netherlands and Bonnefanten Museum, The Netherlands.
