Isabella Dyson
Isabella Dyson is an artist working across drawing and painting, whose practice is rooted in close attention to the everyday—objects, places, and lived experiences that shape her perspective. She approaches her choice of subject with sensitivity, capturing the beauty of a simple moment in time which will always spring again into one’s consciousness.
Influenced by artists including Giorgio Morandi, Antony Gormley, Tracey Emin, Louise Bourgeois, and Cy Twombly, her work reflects a sustained engagement with the ordinary. Like Morandi, she is drawn to the understated presence of everyday objects, placing them at the forefront without glorification. This sensibility extends to her depictions of the natural world, from seafront landscapes to still lifes, where moments of stillness and renewal are explored through a contemplative lens.
Dyson’s work was recently presented in a solo exhibition at North House Gallery (2026), following her duo show Terra Firma born out of collaboration with her father, the architect Chris Dyson, at Grey Gallery (2025). She has exhibited at open studio events and venues including the Museum of the Home (2025), Apperley Arts Gallery, Shankill Castle (group exhibition), Eleven Spitalfields Gallery, and Spitalfields Market Space. She holds a BFA from The Cass, London Metropolitan University (2017).
