Sharjanh Film Platform Talks
Close Encounters
This session addresses various dimensions of human relations and the contemporary realities of connection and alienation, togetherness and separateness, as they are explored in film and artists’ moving image. It also raises critical questions around empathy, commonality and difference and explores the issues that arise out of the complex dynamics of family bonds. What does it mean to encounter another, personally and/or observationally through the camera? And how do our closest encounters with others have the capacity to transform our lives and theirs?
