These fiery times was inspired by recent devastating fires in Evia, a rugged island of forests and coves close to the Greek mainland. Smoke and ash from the forest fires blocked out the sun, giving the sky a surreal cast.
Through the use of online sourced 35mm negatives, tinted with a shade of orange, each image is a frame capturing the spread of the burning and drawing attention to the recent range of wildfires across the world, a clear unfolding of the climate crisis we live in. The aesthetic metaphor of tensions kindling into flame hints at the cyclical eruptions of societal unrest and the ongoing struggles
between opposing forces.
